RTE 2,200 people are employed in advertising and social media, with the highest percentage of those working in the advertising and marketing sectors.
They are tasked with creating viral content, reaching potential customers and communicating their message.
The internship, which is available to all candidates, allows them to spend their time creating and running successful campaigns.
These candidates are able to get paid, with some earning an annual salary of up to €1,000 per month.
The Facebook internship is open to students between 16 and 24 years old.
The internship is not only paid for but also gives a chance to gain experience in an innovative field, the company said in a statement.
Students will learn about the technology behind Facebook, how the company develops its advertising platform, and how it makes money.
The company also said that it would give them the opportunity to network and engage with other candidates.
“With our internship programme, we aim to provide opportunities for our students to get the most out of their internship and make their future as successful as possible,” Facebook said.
“As a result, they will get to spend more time developing their social media marketing and marketing experience than any other internship program in Ireland.”
The company has been recruiting more and more employees in recent years, and it said it will continue to recruit new employees and interns for its advertising and digital strategy.
