Forbes’ top-ten list has been in place since the company’s inception in 2009.
Twitter’s market capitalization sits at $10.4 billion, up 10% from last year.
Google’s market cap sits at around $8.7 billion, down 11% from the year prior.
Twitter is the number one social network, ranking behind Facebook, Google, and Amazon.
The company’s user base now sits at 2.8 billion users, a number that has grown significantly in the past five years.
Google and Facebook are the two largest companies in terms of revenue, with Google’s $2.9 trillion in revenue in 2016 ranking it first and Facebook’s $1.8 trillion in revenues in 2016 ranked second.
Twitter is fourth in terms that revenue, behind Twitter and Facebook, but ahead of the likes of Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, and Spotify.
